Even funnier is the comment "Smith, who is having to operate within a tight budget..."jonah wrote:“Nathan was not really going to get a chance while, with Robbie, it is just a case of one-in, one-out.â€
made me laugh
you have to hand it to the telnesford pr. After the Berlin Wall came down I often wondered what happened to the Communist propaganda machine. He's only got a tight budget because the club stupidly squandered their money on big contracts for players who have subsequently under performed.
Only Fylde have bottomless pockets. They need to stop making excuses for RS as the back four is one he has drafted in since he took the job and he has brought in other players too.

Re: Old Player Watch
According to my calculations, nine of the Teflon squad who featured at Curzon Ashton were signed by Mr Smith plus Paul McCone and Dwayne Samuels who are injured. Of these eleven, four are on loan from other clubs although they do currently have six players out on loan to other clubs.
Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grubb.

Re: Old Player Watch
Whilst lurking around the Midland Football League website earlier (don't ask - checking something for someone), I noticed you can look at all registered players for each side this season all the way down to Division 3. Curiosity got the better of me so I had a click on each side - some interesting names now plying their trade down at steps 5-8:
Nicky Campbell - Sporting Khalsa
Louis Keenan - Bardon Hill
Luke Edwards - Coleshill Town
Umit Eminoglu - Stourport Swifts
Sam Griffiths - Rocester
Sam Craven - Shepshed Dynamo
Luke Corbett - Bromsgrove Sporting
Gavin Hurren - Lichfield City
Mark 'PC Goal Machine' Bellingham - Paget Rangers
Leadun Dunleavy - Barnt Green Spartak
Dominic Reece (proper late 90s name!) - Barnt Green Spartak
Asa Wright - Hinckley
Michael Swann - Nuneaton Griff
Apologies if said elsewhere before
Other standout names: Dan Starbuck - son of Phil - plays for Shepshed Dyamo. Russell Hoult - the former WBA and Leicester keeper, still playing occasionally for Quorn at the age of 43
Finally, I didn't realise Scott Cooksey is manager of Pelsall Villa (missed that one). He's a little more, erm, how do I put it, 'rotund' than he used to be
http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/pelsallvi ... /1-1621080
And as an extra Brucy bonus, I nearly knocked Lewis Taylor-Boyce over in Birmingham City Centre this lunchtime

And how is Dominic Reece still playing? He must 106 years old!
And I wouldn't know who Lewis Taylor-Boyce was if I ever knocked into him! I blame old age....

I saw LT-B at Tivi last season but it was a good job he was wearing the shirt number as per the team sheet or I wouldn't have known him either

Just noticed, in looking for their result yesterday (they lost 1-2 to the unstoppable Hereford machine) , that Lye Town list Alex Cowley in their squad

Mind you Danksy is also on that list (made no appearances) so I'm not sure how current it is

From a reliable source:
RTB moved from Stratford to Redditch last week and made his debut on Saturday - away at Stratford.
Redditch, captained by Jamey Osborne, lost 1-0, their first defeat in twelve games.
