Batch picked up his fifth yellow of the season and will miss the First Round Proper

Correction - he's just heard from their Club Secretary that this was "only" his fourth booking of the season, the red card counts separately so he's OK to play in their FAC 1st Round game v Newport!

From the TUFC fan's forum:

"Visited prestige (NIGHTCLUB) on a night out this evening and witnessed James Hurst hit some one, got escorted out by bouncers n ended up running away from police, was duly arrested and put in back of a riot van, I don't tend to go torquay for a night out often but this weekend have ended up their twice, of which I've witnessed hurst out the night before a game and the second night watched him put in the back of a riot van, embarrassing, also to be fair the rest of the torquay players looked embarrassed by his actions, Shame that a talented problem has such problems off the pitch"

I imagine we retain his NLN registration (if there is such a thing exclusive to the NL) but let's count him as an old player for now...

From our local rag re James Hurst:

Meanwhile, United's leading scorer James Hurst was expected to leave Plainmoor this week after being suspended by the club.

The Gulls paid Hednesford Town a 'nominal' fee for the talented Hurst during the summer, and the former England Under-20 player, who started his career with West Bromwich Albion, has scored seven goals from right-back and right-midfield. He was suspended in the wake of an alleged incident in Torquay town centre last weekend.

National League rivals Guiseley have been leading the list of clubs interested in Hurst.

We'll have him! He can do as much fighting as he likes on the pitch!

Maybe there are less distractions in that part of the world and he won't get into trouble as easily. mind you, the beer is stronger!

Saw him last season for Leek at Tividale - he could still do a job for us... maybe that's why they've put him on contract

Just noticed that Danny Quinn scored a hat-trick for Ashby Ivanhoe against Blaby & Whetstone last Saturday in the East Midlands League.
