Re: Clubs in crisis
So a 5-Year sponsorship deal ends after just 1-Year .. does relegation to the Conference have anything to do with it?

Seems Bulls have failed to meet a 5pm deadline for payment of all football creditors and will be thrown out of the Conference tomorrow (which would hand Chester a reprieve)Glyn wrote:Hereford latest

No statement until tomorrow though
Some of us remember Hereford as a Southern League club, seems that may be their next league too

Whoever wrote that should be kicked out anyway, why would anyone, ever, put an apostrophe in a plural?! (see last para)

Re: Clubs in crisis
What a disgraceful press release that is (it about sums up the club) - quite apart from the appalling grammar, the phrase "it staggers belief" is apposite - it "staggers belief" that they've been allowed to get away with cheating so many times in the past and have the cheek to complain that they've been caught at it again, and even then only face a one-league demotion...Lee K wrote:Looks like Salisbury are goners (again!)

confirmation that 2 of the 24 that contested the Conference Premier last season have been booted down the pyramid.
Surprising that the authorities don't try to step in as survival at this level is placing some clubs under severe pressure and the situation is getting worse with every passing season.

Understatement of the millennium.
And by the way, this doesn't "just happen", it comes about because clubs pay their players (and/or management/directors) too much/don't pay tax and other creditors when payment is due, all of which is cheating those clubs who play by the rules. Hence I have no sympathy for them and, where Salisbury are concerned especially, as they've been this way before, Ken Leese has even less

Would be interesting to get the views of Salisbury fans as they seem to suffer from perpetual mis-management

Re: Clubs in crisis
Weird history they've got - after their first election/promotion to the Football League, I saw their first ever League Cup game (lost 4-1 at Villa Park, if memory serves, which it doesn't always); then some of us will remember an early season Conference game at Keys Park after they'd been relegated when many of their fans wore tee-shirts saying "On loan to the Conference for one season only" (they were there for about five, I think)Perton Pitman wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27923995

... so Salisbury have until July 4 to settle their debts to save their place in Conference South or else they're presumably headed for the Ryman League.
Who'd be a fixture-planner, eh?

Only had time to skim-read it, people on there are suggesting Lowestoft might be moved back south.
