I think I'm quite happy in CN. Too many clubs in the COnf Premier are walking a financial tightrope. Full time staff on gates of 1000 just isn't sustainable

they are clearly over paid for the level that they are operating at. Mind you, McCOist still earns a fair whack depsite taking a huge cut in his salary. Not sure what the standard is like, but many of the teams would struggle in League 1 / 2.

Presumably gates of 40,000 are not sufficient to cover the wage bill!

Just had a look and ticket prices at Ibrox are Â£17-21 for adults.
It's Â£20-23 at Walsall and Wolves Â£20-25.

Next crisis looming? - sadly some clubs never learn... - there are already too many examples of clubs which have gone into administration for a second or even a third time - Gers run the risk of being the first to go into liquidation twice (I think), albeit under two different guises...

I've never worked out what the saying "like shooting fish in a barrel" means, but maybe their participation in the 'Scottish League whatever it is called' with the resources at their disposal fits the bill

Now, more than ever, Eastwood need some of those glory-hunting ******s who came down to our ground a few years back when they won the NPL in many coaches proclaiming to be fans until they died.

...I guess the Badger cull claimed a few more victims than we were led to believe

From another of my Shropshire correspondents, who includes Shawbury among the clubs he watches these days (WML I think?)

Last Saturday's game against Wednesfield and last night's against Willenhall were both postponed because the away club couldn't field a full team.

Woeful isn't it. You'd think they could at least find some lads who fancy a game (I would have done in my day!)

My local free paper runs the story that Dudley Sports were also without a game last Saturday so planned a training session instead. Then the league, having learned that Wednesfield had cried off their game at Shawbury, phoned the DS manager at 12 to see if they'd like to fill the gap.

"If they'd phoned me between 9 and 10 we'd have taken it - but we'd already started our training session so it was too late"

What a way to run a league. Shawbury fans who don't have the internet or hadn't listened to Radio Shropshire at about 2.30pm when they said the game was off would have turned up and found the game off - but they might have turned up expecting to see Wednesfield and found Dudley Sports there instead.

Coisty took a 50% cut in his salary and is still on more than probably any other Scottish manager, including all those in the Premiership... while the players refused to do so (this time) so it's highly likely outgoings still exceed income (or is that stating the bleeding obvious?)

We're due at Ibrox in July to watch the Rugby Sevens in the Commonwealth Games, I just hope it hasn't been shut down by then
