Those two (?) seasons in the Midland league were the worst I've seen watching Hednesford.

Match Report (Cannock Advertiser)
This was a defeat with honour for a Hednesford side that should soon start to climb the table if they mantain this sort of form.
They proved more than a match for their high riding opponents and deserved a 26th minute lead when Keith Kelly glanced home Archie Kings pin point cross. Mark Unitt cleared off the line just before half time to preserve Hednesfords slender lead at the break.
On the hour Rushden drew level when Andy Kirkup went on a terrific run and unleashed an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box.
Hednesford playing their fourth game in eight days looked to have held on for a point but Stuart Beards headed home in injury time to seal a win for the League leaders.

LOL, won my bet with myself that the reply would be along those lines.

He'll be playing against the biggest club in world football today. Not bad for someone not good enough, eh?

I hear it's 25 years ago today that Ron Saunders sold Steve Bull to Wolves.

Oops!! - even the best managers make mistakes....

... and I was told yesterday that Bully's first involvement with Wolves was as a newly-signed but non-playing spectator at Chorley 3-0 Wolves

.... and he thought he'd made a big mistake!!

Thank you Keith for putting on the teams from yesteryear. It reminds of some really good times. I forget the difficult and bad times.

Ah Bob ... is that because you want to - or because of your age! (cheers)

Some were bad times because at the end of the day, I enjoyed them too, by curing them, so bringing the good times. Though they were so bad at the time. Without going into the issues. nobody knows how very serious thing were from time to time.
