Our day will come.... and other Cross Keys memories...

The original, and still, by a long, long, long way, the best - with all due respect to the late Ms Winehouse, whose version is distinctly mediocre, IMHO!

One of the songs I clearly remember being blasted through the PA at the Cross Keys - and bring back "The Chain Gang", I say!!!

... and then there was that amazing musty smell of tobacco under the low roof at the Cross Keys end..... and the smell of hoss-linament as the players ran out.... and those shouts of "pull yer socks up" and "dip yer bread in", neither of which I ever really understood, as a wide-eyed innocent wee lad..... and crisps with a blue bag of salt in, and a bottle of pop with a straw in it, and gambolling down the grassy bank....

Oh, I'm away now....

Great to hear "The Chain Gang" at half-time yesterday - thanks to whoever was responsible for that...

I'm expecting Ruby and the Romantics on Tuesday....
