I think we will play a 3-5-2 tomorrow with Hussey, Johnson and Harrison at the back. Looking forward to it

That won't be the case as Hussey is injured. I also think in signing Jamie Morgan an out and right back to replace Blaine Rowe shows they very much want to play with a flat back 4 stopping the full backs from pushing on. That is disappointing as it would look like Joel Taylor could be the odd man out when in my opinion he has been one of most consistent performers and probably the best crosser of a ball.

Hussey is injured without playing a game? That’s impressive even for us and our horrendous injury record this season…Hoggie wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18 2025 9:04 amThat won't be the case as Hussey is injured. No complaints today. Credit to Avro who were extremely well organised , tenacious and fit. Both teams can take heart from having very solid defences. I don't think Breeden had to make a save and other than collecting a few crosses he had a very quiet day. We had a couple of half chances and a shot from McHale that was well saved in the first half, but the truth is that although we played some excellent football in the first half especially, the final pass was often lacking.
I heard Duku getting some stick, but he won his headers and the problem was that there was nobody there to pick up his flick ons. I'd liked to have seen McHale playing off him as we were crying out for someone to run beyond our number 9.
McHale threatened when he came inside a bit more, but the one thing we saw all afternoon was that when one of our blokes had the ball there would be 3 opponents swarming all over him in an instant.
I've seen Watson play twice now and I'm not convinced he is a winger so hopefully he will play a more central role at some point.
I was concerned at the end that we were rushing things and making bad decisions . This could have led to an error, but it didn't and our back four looked absolutely rock solid and this bodes well for the remainder of the season.
Another great and whilst most people got behind the lads I was disappointed to hear a few boos at the end. THat wasn't really warranted.

Re: Avro (H) .. NPL Division One West
Yet another inept performance at home. At the moment it looks like we are caught between two styles. Passing it around or go long. We are far to deliberate to play a passing style, but it you are going to go long you need to play with two strikers. Fairplay to Manny today, he won a lot of balls in the air, but there was no one close enough to pick up his knock downs. It appears there is a need to shoehorn certain players into the team the detriment of the right formation. Yet the bench has players on it whom you don't really think can change a game.
At the point in which Jack Byrne was substituted, he was our only treal threat. A strange substitution.
Chris Hussey, showed up well on debut, but have say I felt for Ryan Brown. He's done very little wrong, then so to neither have Blain Rowe or Joel Taylor, who are both out if the team. Rowe of course on loan at a club in a league higher??????
Two positives from today. One we didn't lose, and two, results seemed go for us as we didn't fall out of the play off places.

Very poor pedestrian performance. Not enough movement, too slow in the build up, all too reminiscent of the King days. Harrison played plenty of long balls with no success, Duku won everything in the air and had no support at all. Nobody breaking forward from midfield and the wingers too far away.
I actually thought Bearne had a poor game. His job is to create chances and he didn’t create any but the same could be said for the other attacking players too.

Forgot to say was impressed with Hussey. Looks very mobile for 36, brought the ball out of defence well and passed to Hednesford feet every time.
