If there’s one person at the club who needs to perform better it is Steve King.
Goals conceded yet again from corners with no sign of a solution. Very slow and poor build up in the second half which is easy to defend against which changed as soon as we went 1-2 down which was too late. Too late with substitutions again just as he was against Mossley and taking Duku off for the ineffective Jervis was a completely wrong decision.
All of these problems come from the manager’s decisions and it needs to be better. MOTM for me was Joel Taylor easily by a country mile with his non-stop effort and attacking down the left and the number of excellent crosses he put in.

Yes, the second half performance was inept until after they'd scored in the 84th minute. Very disappointing, especially given the size of the crowd for an FA Trophy game.

I have to agree with Lee's assessment. King has yet to convince me he has tactical nous. i haven't yet seen a game where we have changed formation to counter the opposition and frankly the substitutions that he is making are bizarre. For the second time in a month he was out thought by his Cashtown counterpart. Not good enough I'm afraid.

We should have won today, but allowed Cashtown to bore us to death for the first 30 minutes of the second half which was a non-event. Jervis and McHale were not influencing the game and Trickett-Smith was playing far too deep. I'd have got Stephenson on after an hour and pushed TS into the number 10 role. THe best two players in this division last year and we aren't getting the best out of them.

When we concede corners it is becoming a standing joke.

Jack Bearne destroyed the corner flag at full time and that is a sign of immense frustration.

We have to win on Saturday and then put a run together in the league during October and November. We have a great chance to go up, but we are at risk of spurning it.

THere was a rumour that we were signing a centre half from Buxton in midweek but he ended up at Matlock. King needs to lower his sights and sign the best step 3 centre half he can find and accept he may not be a ball player in the mould of the outstanding Johnson.

It's not rocket science, but we are making things way too hard for ourselves and if we don't go up serious questions have to be asked.

A great turn out by our fans - the number of visiting fans was pretty pitiful given that that the two clubs are neighbours, but I guess many of their 'fans' were at the Baggies or Villa today. A bad day with a lack of fight, lack of leadership and tactical ineptitude.

Today's performance has was very reminiscent of a number of home fixtures his season. We have loads of possession but the difference today was that we didn't create many chances until the last 5 minutes.

Chasetown showed very little ambition and simply sat back in a bank of 4 and 5 whilst we slowly passed the around in front if them. We were too slow in moving the ball around. We must move the ball around more quickly. It's easy for teams to shuffle across and get into shape and defend if you move the ball backward and forward, side to side slowly. We need move the ball far more quickly, dragging players out of position as they chase the ball. We also should look to slide the ball into the channels for our forwards to chase more often. Defenders are comfortable when the balls in front of them, not facing their own goal. Having said that our forwards need to show far more movement, they were simply too static making it easy for them to be marked out of the game.

As for our defence, we cannot defend set pieces. I too heard the rumour regarding Josh Granite. Having failed to get him, I would look no further than Kieron Fenton from Chasetown as an deal big strong, good in the air centre half. Elliot Johnson could easily play in 3 , or even in front of the back 4.

I'm not even sure we are regularly playing the best if our two keepers either.

Spot on mate can't argue with any of that, Elliot Johnson is a great player but a centre half he ain't . You have to realise he has played most of his career as a left back.
Another thing I can't get my head round is Jervis as an out and out striker when you have the golden boot winner of this league on the bench.
TS isn't doing enough for me, perhaps playing too deep. And McHale doesn't look fit and contributed nothing today.
