Predictions for top 5 for season 24/5

Post by Perton Pitman »

Prior to every season a thread is posted so people can predict what the top 5 will be at the end of the season and where we will finish. I'm unusually positive this season and I think we will win the league!

1. Hednesford
2. nantwich
3. Runcorn
4. Stalybridge
5. City of Liverpool

O-yay, 0-yay, 0-yay.
My bell predicts the way
The Pitmen will go this season
They will come second by rhyme or reason!
The final table will show
It will turn out to be stop and go!
They won't have it all their own way
O-yay, o-yay, o-yay.

1) = Nantwich
2) = Pitmen
3) = Congleton
4) = Chasetown
5) = Mossley

There's only me, Perton and Chris not picked Chasetown in the top 5.

I think you could make a case for a load of teams finishing in the top 5 this season.alot of teams have recruited really well and while I think in the end we will have too much it wouldn't suprise me if we lose a few games, away from home in particular.4 going down aswel I think will make things interesting at the bottom so even on Saturday asmuch as the old "we win on paper" I'm expecting a similar game to last Saturday, just hopefully with the same result!

I’m not sure why so many people are tipping Nantwich to finish in the play-offs. I’ll say it here and now they won’t do, and we’ll see why on Tuesday….

Because they've got half of our team from last season ;)

They’ve only got 3 haven’t they? And 3 of the better ones in Glover, Griffiths and Thompson. Or am I missing anyone? I’m not saying they’ll be top 5 but I think Chase won’t be far off.

Thompson started yesterday, Griffiths came on as sub, Sam Wilding and George Cater also started (granted they're not from last season's team.
They also had Bradley Clarkson but I think I read that he'd gone somewhere else, can't remember where. Glover is rumoured to have gone to Walsall Wood but he wasn't in either Chasetown's or their squad yesterday and he isn't in the Chasetown team photo. Mendez-Jones has retired again.

On Facebook on May 8 Danny G seems to have implied he was leaving Chasetown.. no confirmation yet of where next, but he has started a new coaching venture..
