Hednesford Town Development Team

Post by PitmanKeith »

For the upcoming 2024/25 season Hednesford Town will be entering a Development squad into the Midland Football League Development Division under the stewardship of Andy Turner.
It is an open age league but it is envisaged Hednesford will use mainly Under 21 and youth team players.
Nominated days for home matches has to be Friday Evening, Saturday Afternoon or Monday Evenings. Once the day is chosen, which I believe Hednesford haven't done yet, it will remain for the entire season.

Full list of Clubs accepted for the Division at this moment in time are as follows:

Chasetown U23 Scholars
Harborough Town Reserves
Hednesford Town Development
Market Drayton Town Development
Nuneaton Griff Reserves
Paget Rangers Development
Solihull Youth Academy
Sutton United Reserves
Tamworth Academy U23/Reserves

Hopefully the fixtures and venues when known will be well advertised on the website and/or social media as some of us may want to go along and see how the development squad is developing.

It seemed the previous development set up which was disbanded wasn't as closely connected as this may hopefully be. Presumably once in house training facilities are in place then there will be scope for full connectivity with a larger scale age range when perhaps we can see a Pitmen youth team back in the F A Youth cup.

Plenty more of our fixtures on that site too and the week ahead also sees the youngsters playing away at Solihull Youth Academy on Friday 16th August at Coleshill Town FC. I have plans for tomorrow evening and Friday evening but I will go and have a watch when I’m free.

Well done to our player of the match (can anyone afford to have his name printed on their shirt?)

Tonight’s match v Chasetown is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Next match is Saturday 7th September away at Sutton United reserves at Coleshill Road, Sutton Coldfield, B75 7BA (3pm kick off). Unfortunately this clashes with the first team’s FA Trophy match v Quorn.
