Who’s out there that fits the bill though? That’s the question.

PitmanKeith wrote: ↑Mon May 20 2024 11:22 am@jshez glad we agree pal….why do we get a manager that is local. Harry failed liked him (without verma we would have finished rock bottom) and so did Paul Moore albeit Manchester based. Think we need a manager with pedigree Runcorn linnets must have had a smaller budget and finished second from top. Got to remember we’re the second furthest south team in the north west….and the physicality of the league warrants a different tact I honestly think if we were in the midlands league we would have finished mid-lower table Walsall wood did. Excited for the news…..@ j shezJ shez wrote: ↑Mon May 20 2024 9:01 amWe both just want the best for the club at the end of the day but I do feel it has to be someone who comes from the local area, 20 - 30 mile radius who knows the identity of the club and has had experience and success at Step 3 and above. Someone who is looking for a project. We've pi*&Ed about too often with managers in the past this one has to be right, for the club and the person who takes it.PitmanKeith wrote: ↑Mon May 20 2024 8:42 amSorry mate I don't count 5 or 6 weeks at the end of last season as getting them to the play offs. It's one season for me. Still wouldn't be my choice we needJ shez wrote: ↑Mon May 20 2024 8:38 amSo two then mate, play off final after he took and a semi final, the rest still standsPitmanKeith wrote: ↑Mon May 20 2024 8:34 amWhere is your source for three play offsJ shez wrote: ↑Mon May 20 2024 8:30 am Everything billy said.knows the league,3 play off runs, yeh they didn't go up,but to be in there in this league consistently is excellent and with our apparently decent budget I think he could go further.realistic ,whatever some fans seem to think, new owners or not,we are still a team that finished 2nd bottom and got very lucky with a reprieve.the comments about Pearce and Mcdonald were always ridiculous.unless we can persuade a guy from a lower league with a good win record then we are looking at guys from higher up who will ,like most managers, not have won alot or struggled recently or they wouldn't want to be dropping to this level.
This is mine ONLY 14 months in the job

I get where your coming from with it been local mate but for me, sombody that knows the horrors that is the North West league would be my choice.i hope we don't just go down the route like we did with the players and get a name in just to get everybody on board.we need sombody who wants to be here long term this time and build somthing ,no who is gonna just ship after 6 month because they get a higher offer.hopefully we will know soon.

There's some decent available out there, Poch, De Zerbi, Tuchel, Klopp soon to be joined by Ten Haag, we're spoilt for choice

In the absence of anything else, can we just have some juicy rumours?

I’m being told bringing in a manager is done, but he’s under contract somewhere so it won’t be announced until June 1stbix_the_dog wrote: ↑Thu May 23 2024 9:02 pm In the absence of anything else, can we just have some juicy rumours?

No, he’s just joined Torquay as a football advisor.

Glyn has done a fantastic job over the last few weeks telling us of managers who have left their clubs or are leaving their clubs , and there are quite a few, so we can rule them out. So we can look at the ones who are still connected to a club. Narrows the field a bit

If that is the case I'm sure he and the DoF are discussing possible targets and things will be happening in the backgroundpitmanpipe wrote: ↑Fri May 24 2024 7:54 amI’m being told bringing in a manager is done, but he’s under contract somewhere so it won’t be announced until June 1stbix_the_dog wrote: ↑Thu May 23 2024 9:02 pm In the absence of anything else, can we just have some juicy rumours?

According to the book of faces, we dont need to look much further than burton for the name of the new manager, this is pure speculation though

And what an awful gamble that would be providing the rookie is prepared to drop FIVE levels.

Re: Choice of Next Manager / Moore Gone
Are you talking about someone who lives in Burton or the Burton manager?
Come on, if we want rumours let’s at least make them a tiny bit believable…
