Now that we know we can start planning for next season. I'm sure that we have irons in the fire.

Will be interesting to hear what plans we have re: ticket pricing etc as well as the obvious stuff around the management team and the make-up of the squad.

Not too much travelling either. We know this is a very tough league so the starting point will be to ensure we have a squad good enough not to be worrying about the drop

Disagree, we have the money we need to be winning this league, the days of fannying about need to be gone.

In agreement we should be aiming to win the league with the owners ambition but the elephant in the room is the DOF role as how can it be run successfully when he is based down in London ? how does he know the local scene and players. Just hope we get a half decent manager who will bring his own players in supported by Marvin. Although we may have the funds left in the wrong hands will be fritted away just like last years signings with unfit and injury prone players who were well passed their sell by date. Would love to be proved wrong.

THat's the point. It's fine having lots of money, but let's get proven, quality players in who are capable of playing at step 3. That is the recipe for success. We also need to pick the correct coach / manager. Getting a 'name' in is not the answer.

Money may not be an object (but it should be) and from those games I attended last season we need players prepared to roll their sleeves up and compete as a pre-requisite and not those being touted by agents looking for a pay-day.

SPend the money wisely and we will do well, but nobody can say we will win the league until we know what the squad is, who is coach and how the DoF and CEO will be an influence.

After finishing in the bottom 2 where we spent most of the season
We have:
Inexperienced owners
No manger
Probably no more that 5 players
An inexperienced ceo
An inexperienced commercial manager

But people are saying we should win the league.

Parts of our fan base is beyond delusional.

We have a CEO and what he doesn't know about football isn't worth knowing, he also has an extremely sound business acumen, I think you are being a little harsh on that one.

He is still relatively inexperienced when it comes to being a ceo. And my problem isn’t with him or any of those other people.

There is nothing wrong being inexperienced

My problem is with fans like you saying we need to be winning the league. A league which we have just finished second bottom in.

When Torquay were relegated from the Football League into the National League - everyone said they were too good and far too bigger Club to be playing in such a lowly league and they would easily bounce back up at the first attempt.

Look where they are now and how they survived last season by the skin of their teeth, being one of only a handful of full time Clubs playing against mainly part-timers.

Don't go into next season thinking it will be a walk in park.
A reprieve is pure luck, HTFC ended up where they deserved to be and a lot of work needs doing now to start climbing back up the pyramid!

Max Chimines is retained at Chasetown…

Although on X he spells himself “Chimenes” and I assume he’s right…

That's the type of player we should be going after and would of made a good captain in the bargain, I wonder why he left Leek ?

It doesn’t sound like they wanted him to leave. Maybe he doesn’t want to travel to places like Whitby, Morpeth and Blyth.

The Southern League have tweeted that their fixtures will be released on Friday 19th July.

The geeks on the nonleaguematters forum say that the 3 Trident leagues release their fixtures at the same time. I don’t know if this is true but the geeks on there know an awful lot. If it is our fixtures will be out next Friday.
