Re: Old Player Watch
Made the short 10 mile journey from home to Berkhamsted on Saturday to see my old friend, and our old physio, Gavin Blackwell (don't know if that counts on this thread ) who was visiting with Bromsgrove Sporting.
Two former Pitmen players in the Sporting line-up - Luke Rowe and Nathan Blissett. I never actually saw Rowe live in action while at Keys Park but he is now Bromsgrove's captain and put in some good set pieces, which he was annoyed that his teammates never got on the end of. Blissett is now with his 15th club and did little other than see a header hit the crossbar in the second half as the visitors looked for a way back into the game.
Berkhamsted picked up all three points with a 2-1 victory, their first at home since August!

Mark Derricott also played for Bromsgrove on Saturday, who we have had on loan twice from Hereford in recent seasons. Although, I understand his second loan spell with us was cut short after one game when (and this is only what I am told) he was injured after taking a very powerful shot fully and firmly in the testicles.Scott wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19 2024 7:05 am Made the short 10 mile journey from home to Berkhamsted on Saturday to see my old friend, and our old physio, Gavin Blackwell (don't know if that counts on this thread ) who was visiting with Bromsgrove Sporting.

Amazing isn't it, MOM for one of the top sides in the league but couldn't get a game under our manager.

Joe Thompson played for Newcastle Town against us in August when Paul Moore was the manager there and let him go to come to us.
I hope for Joe’s sake that Moore never gets the Runcorn job…

Star scored for Lye today as did Riley O'Sullivan for Spalding.
