Star has gone as well according to chat around the ground today.
I know many were frustrated at his lack of starts but didn't do it for me, Harry’s first task is getting some fire power in surely.

Two players that won't be following their old manager to Keys Park.

Another one that won't be as well, they are really protecting their talent aren't they.

Re: Hednesford Town Team Talk 2023/24
Contracts mean little these days. If players want to leave a club and go and play for another it will happen eventually. I suspect those at Walsall Wood that have signed contracts are happy to stay there otherwise they wouldn't have signed. What we don't know is whether some players have refused to sign a contract.
What puzzles me slightly is how Walsall Wood propose to finance this (I guess it may not be costing them any more money, but the risk of player injury / loss of form may expose them to costs that they wouldn't ordinarily have faced).
I'd also like to think that if we are going to sign new players then we would cast the net wider, especially as the budget has increased. To Danny GLover's credit he bought Sutton and McQuilikin in from Whitchurch and Telford respectively - both played well on Saturday.
If our chances of staying up hinge on nicking players from one club then this will be a real challenge, but I suspect that we will be savvy enough to find players from lots of different clubs.

Two of the players arent amongst the four players I'd take to Hednesford, Bradley is though. Don't know what current deals the other three that i would also like are already on at the Wood though.

On checking with the club I have now discovered that the following players who were part of Danny Glovers squad at varying points throughout the season have all now left
Danny Glover
Dan Crane
Wembanvuanda Star Mayemba
Max Dixon
Lewis Wright
Liam Hallam
Kaine Butler
Brett Lloyd
As a result the current squad is now amended accordingly

I thought Lewis Wright looked decent in pre season and I was a big fan of max,not sure he was used properly, but apart from that there are no real loses.we just need a couple in before sat with the striker situation.PitmanKeith wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06 2023 10:25 am On checking with the club I have now discovered that the following players who were part of Danny Glovers squad at varying points throughout the season have all now left

Two players leaving Walsall Wood, let the speculation commence!
They’ve also announced the signing of a goalkeeper so let’s get carried away with that as well

New signings can't come fast enough. I thought Verma was on a contract, but these days they mean nothing as we know .Johnny_91 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12 2023 7:27 am https://twitter.com/danielgyasi101/status/172 ... pH7brH79PQ

We do need to start playing and getting results that a top 8 team would get. Minimum of 10 wins from 23 games required.

Re: Hednesford Town Team Talk 2023/24
I wasn't able to make the Tamworth game on Tuesday so decided to go to Brocton - Walsall Wood instead.
Saw Wood beat us earlier in the season, but didn't take note of their players. This time though, kept a close eye on a few.
Jai Verma, looked a really good, tidy player. A little lightweight at time as he's only small with a low centre of gravity so can get in around players with ease. Would be a great signing for us.
I was majorly impressed with Alex Bradley, who bossed the game 1st half and looked a step above everyone else. It's a shame he's committed to Wood.
I know Joey Butlin has also been linked, but boy, does he love a moan. Moaning at the ref, the linesmen, Brocton, just about anyone that would listen! Looked to be carrying a little bit a timber too. Some nice touches though and can see he had quality. If we did sign him, we certainly wouldn't need the floodlights on again, as those turkey teeth of his would be enough to light the stadium. They were impressive!

I think the loyal comment was more to do with his loyalty to Harris rather than to Walsall Wood. As we all know, you see a lot of that in non-league.Perton Pitman wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13 2023 12:04 pm "loyal lad" who has walked out on his previous club!!!

Yes, I made the connection. It's a different world these days as we saw with Liam MacDonald!akb junior wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13 2023 1:15 pmI think the loyal comment was more to do with his loyalty to Harris rather than to Walsall Wood.
