Re: Fixtures 2023/4
Interesting set of fixtures. Good to be at home on the first and last day and good to not have to travel (either at all or too far) on Boxing Day and NY Day.
Just 2 midweek games (excluding BHs) in the first two weeks of the season, although the Kidsgrove game could be postponed if either us or they are involved in an FA Cup replay.
It’s worth mentioning that there are either FA Cup or FA Trophy rounds on every Saturday in September and the first two Saturdays in October so it may be that more matches need to be rearranged should we or our opponents have cup runs.
I’ve heard that Chasetown are playing home games at Boldmere St Michaels until their pitch is ready although I haven’t actually seen that officially anywhere. But what I have seen is that Smethwick Rangers are playing at Boldmere this season so makes 3 clubs playing there until the end of October if true about Chasetown which would be impossible surely?

Keep an eye on Mossley in the FA Cup on the 16th. They are at home to Widnes or Emley and should they progress then our trip up North will be postponed.

Re: Fixtures 2023/4
So we have a free date on 23rd September as do Runcorn, Mossley, Newcastle, Trafford and Widnes. I guess if Mossley win their FA Cup tie next Saturday then the sensible thing would be to bring our game at their place on the 30th forward a week to save us a midweek trek up to Greater Manchester.

Don't forget there's a supporters coach booked to go there on 30th, could possibly be changed though I suppose.Perton Pitman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09 2023 7:58 pm So we have a free date on 23rd September as do Runcorn, Mossley, Newcastle, Trafford and Widnes. Our game at Hanley on Saturday 3 Feb has been bought forward to the Friday night. I'm sure we will learn why in due course, but this is a bit annoying.
Also , interesting to see that one or two clubs are looking to have early kick-offs to reduce energy bills. Although costs have fallen a bit, they still reman high.
