Finally something to get at least a little excited about! You would hope that the club would break their silence once we know where we are headed too. Im not expecting it though.

Re: League Allocations 2023-24
Now it’s confirmed it’s time to get all excited.
Look at the amazing and beautiful northern towns we can visit next season. Treat the lady in your life to a Cheshire Oaks trip when we play Vauxhall Motors away and a Trafford Centre trip when we play Trafford away.
No away game should take more than 2 hours to get to apart from Clitheroe so it all looks good to me.
I have never been to 1874 Northwich (groundshare at Barnton), Avro, Bootle, Clitheroe, Hanley Town, Runcorn Linnets, Trafford or Widnes so some new grounds too and
I understand that City of Liverpool groundshare at Bootle.

Clitheroe's a nice town too. I bumped into Owen Coyle in a very pleasant bistro there just after he'd been sacked from one of the Lancs clubs he managed (can't remember which, too many on the list...)

Oops.
Some remarkable reprieves and re-allocations when you look through the full lists.

Interestingly, Congleton Town were placed in the Midland League last season but won an appeal to be moved back to the North West Counties League. However, this time:

Intriguing suggestion.
And see my reply..
By the way they will also travel to Blyth which is, I think, even further than the two Co Durham clubs he names.
But their manager did say that NLS would also involve plenty of travelling eg to Truro.
Their board is meeting tonight to discuss whether to appeal.
We know how pointless that can be..

Barnton is a nice little ground for the 1874 game, as is Trafford. Avro is in a very unappealing area, have an astro pitch and racist homophobic fans and officials. When West Didsbury and Chorlton played there last year, one of our fans complained about some very audible abuse and was told by their Chairman to "F*** off if you don't like it".

Re: League Allocations 2023-24
Have to admit that I have sympathy with Winsford and Northwich. The effect of this is that clubs run the risk of losing players who may not be prepared to travel for games outside of their area on a regular basis - this is step 5 remember. Worcester have been bounced into the Hellenic League.
I notice that the Midland League is running with 18 teams - that's just 34 fixtures, whereas the NWCFL is running with 24 teams - that's 46 fixtures. I think that this could have been done better!
I accept that the sands are shifting, but this will be problematic for many clubs. I know that people are excited by trips up the M6 next season for games in Liverpool and Manchester, but that enthusiasm may dim when people are stuck in traffic and crawling along at 20 MPH. We should be in the NPL Midlands, but our fate is now sealed. promotion will be more problematic that it would have otherwise have been. I was looking forward to trips to Khalsa, Walsall Wood, Lye, Boldmere and Sutton. Heading up to Barnton, Kidsgrove and Newcastle is less appealing.

It is what it is I'm afraid, not as if we haven't played in the region before.Perton Pitman wrote: ↑Mon May 15 2023 8:24 pmHave to admit that I have sympathy with Winsford and Northwich. But if I was Evesham or Malvern I certainly would be climbing the walls, both of whom had been predicted to be in the NPL midland ending up with trips to Dorset, Somerset, Devon and even Cornwall.
