Re: Pitmen v Kidderminster Harriers ... PSF
Easily beaten by a good Harriers outfit in a game we were second best in from the off. Other than a 10/15 minute spell in the second half, we looked suspect at the back and short of ideas up front, very much echoing some of last season’s performances
All too easy for Kiddy in the first half, stroking the ball about well and utilising the space between our defenders for likes of Fremantle and Ceesay to run into time and again. We forced Palmer into a couple of saves low down but nothing that overly troubled him. Cuff struggled to get into the game, as did Bennett. I actually forgot Rowe was playing as he barely got a kick in the first half
As has been the case in most of our pre-season games, we were a little more attack minded and direct in the second half and had two or three really good chances at 2-0 to get back into it, only for more adverse defending late on allowing Harriers to fill their boots
Not much in the way of impressive individual displays; Parker was arguably the pick of the bunch, always wanting the ball, whilst the triallist from Tuesday night looked useful on the ball again. Other than that, not very inspiring. Don’t think either of our keepers covered themselves in glory; it’s becoming a position that is generating a lot of discussion on the terraces as we are conceding far too many sloppy, unforced and frankly saveable goals.
Kiddy were a step up on Hereford and I’d expect them to do well this term - they move the ball well, have pace up top and look solid at the back
Big benchmark game on Tuesday night - everyone has got good minutes under their belt so the manager should be closer than ever to knowing his first XI and hopefully fielding close to this side against Strangers.

Classic "fannying around at the back" leading to Kidder's 4th and 5th (and, to be fair, our) goals.
It seems lessons are not being learned.
Mind you, it's not just us...

CDS is correct in saying that the game on Tuesday will be the benchmark of where we are. I think we have problems with the goalkeeping position. Gwilliams let 5 in against us when we played at Sutton a few years back , but we will see whether he is up to this level in the coming weeks.

Good question, no mention in the OS match report

or Twitter updates, though I'm sure you'd looked there already

Can’t comment on the performance as I was otherwise entertained but the goals given away were appalling. Why didn’t Gwilliams do anything to try and stop the second one and it seems the fannying around at the back will continue yet again gifting goals to the opposition.
Having heard the manager’s interview I find it absolutely baffling and worrying hilarious that he doesn’t even know who we are playing next…
