Billy Kee? Aren’t you a Coalville player? Are you signing for us as well?

Leroy Lita has signed on for the coming season,we have also signed a youth from the blue noses and a new goalkeeping coach.
Villa have been a great club, are still a great club and always will be a great club.

Ison, Parker and Lita are all players most (all?) of us would have liked to keep so that’s good business so far.
I will not make any comments about new players until I have seen them play but one hopes for a bit more experience than we had for most of last season.

Good to see Lita signing up. If we give him good quality service he will score goals as he looked fit and hungry in his short spell with us.

A decent right back, centre half and snotter in midfield all with plenty of experience at this level and you'd be half way there.

Delighted to see Leroy back on board, a proper out-and-out striker I noticed that Marusiak had started following the club on Twitter last week so wondered if there might be something in it. I assume Richard Mills has left then?

A bit of a shame if he is. He had a handful of outstanding games last season - Stourbridge and Tamworth both away. His season was plagued by injury and that coincided with our decline in form in September which set the tone for the rest of the season.

I am 60/40 in favour of Cater. When he is at his best he is brilliant but he’s not at his best very often and his work rate without the ball is often poor. I would like to have kept him simply because I doubt we can attract anyone better and if you can get more consistency out of him you’ve got a great player.Perton Pitman wrote: ↑Wed May 25 2022 7:59 amA bit of a shame if he is. Kyle Bennett signs contract for next season:
https://www.hednesfordtownfc.com/2022/0 ... w-contract
1 good game in 10 isn’t good enough though, we need more from him next season.

Re: Hednesford Town Team Talk 2022/23
Depends on the terms under which he signed. His performances probably didn't warrant a contract in retrospect. We saw flashes of ability, but there were games where he was quiet. Hopefully he will produce a greater number of influential displays this season.
The logic of offering contracts , rather than signing people on non-contract terms, needs considering. I think signing players on contracts is a gamble and is fine if we believe that the player in question may have attract suitors who are prepared to pinch players off us. Not all of our contracted players fell into that category last season

Re: Hednesford Town Team Talk 2022/23
Griffiths and Mendez-Jones, whilst good players when you can get them on the pitch, can hardly get on the pitch and stay fit of late especially when playing for us. Martin Riley also put in some good individual performances but he wasn’t the dominant and talkative experienced defender that was going to organise the youngsters around him that I thought he was going to be.
I didn’t really see enough of Cain Smith but he starters at Banbury and looked a tidy footballer from what i did see.
I have no problems with Flanagan leaving, whilst he is a good footballer, he’s is far too inconsistent and has had more dreadful games than better ones. He’s clever and knows what he wants to do but most of the time isn’t good enough to execute it. Very much like Joe Fitzpatrick was only scored more goals.
Josh Webb has looked good to me but again he had his injury problems which plagued his season last year. Tilt, like so many players from last season, has the quality but rarely shows it and we need more than we got from him. Lewis Hayden showed promise and again was inconsistent but he jumped two steps to join us and hopefully he can continue to improve because I think it is in him.
Plenty for the manager to do over the summer for us to match our 9th place.

30 year old goalkeeper Lewis Gwilliams signs having helped Belper to promotion:

Don’t know him but he’s a good age, has experience and from what I’ve read appears to be another important position filled well.

Welcome Lewis. He replaced James Wren at Sutton and was so well thought of there that he had his own song from the Sutton Ultras! As you say, a key position filled so I'm hoping at long last we have a reliable, permanent goalkeeper and don't have to go through the ridiculousness of the past few seasons chopping and changing between the sticks.Lee K wrote: ↑Tue May 31 2022 4:37 pm 30 year old goalkeeper Lewis Gwilliams signs having helped Belper to promotion:

Gwilliams has looked good for Belper this season too! Just what we need more experience in key areas!

I think I remember Gwilliams from when we played Sutton in the trophy at their place in torrential rain perhaps 3 years ago. We won 5-1.
