Presumably the embankment at that ground (I don't know where it is) doesn't require people to pay to watch the game?
You don't have to pay to watch pub football.

Jenner Park Barry - I suspect we might have played there back in the day? (and paid to get in... )

Kieran Wells in the starting line-up for Staly and that's a terrific result for them...

That's because it wasn't pub league football when we played there .

We've missed a trick here

Could have done with Clemmo in our midfield

I’m sure he won’t be at Nuneaton for long. He was out injured for quite some time last season and I have seen him play fairly recently and he can certainly do a job in League 2 still. Once he regains full fitness he must be moving up to National League North or National League.

Agreed; and it could have been worse - like that other fine player from that era who we've always said would be welcomed back, he could have ended up at Telford...

Unless there are two of him/them, Jack Fitzwater appears to have turned up at Livingston, and kept out Rangers' forward line yesterday...

Terrific result and a mention in dispatches for the boy Fitzwater:

We play Nuneaton in a couple of months from now so hopefully he will have moved up the pyramid by then

Just noticed also that Sean Williams has been loaned by Alty to Warrington.

He's been around a bit

Some sad news this weekend with the passing of Les Youll, who I'm sure many older supporters will remember.
A no nonsense midfielder Les played for Hednesford over a 6-7 year period in the late 1970's to mid 1980's.
RIP Les.

Very sad news. Les was instrumental in getting us to the 4th qual round of the FA Cup in the mid-80s and played a starring role in the 3 matches that we played against Witton in the round prior to this one.
At the time, under Mick Babb and Bob Wickett (I think) we had a good couple of seasons and Les was part of that side.
I remember him being subbed towards the end of an easy victory at Stourbridge and he walked to the changing rooms to light up a cigarette. You don't see that kind of thing these days!
Hopefully the club will mark his passing.

Kieron Dawes leaves Stafford for Redditch with some thinly-veiled criticism from his former employers:
